February 22, 2015 Meeting at Stephanie's house

Here is the report from today's Book Club.  Special thanks to Stephanie for hosting us today on this bright and sunny day (after the 6 more inches of snow that we got last night).  There were 7 of us that came together (we missed the Southern Gals) and we had an interesting discussion on "A Girl Named Zippy".  Some of us liked it, some of us didn't care for it, some of us found it boring,  and some of us thought we could all write this book about our childhood, but we managed to hit all the funny, sad, hot spots, etc. throughout the book.

For our April Book (Claire's picks), the unanimous decision was "Age of Iron" by J.M. Coetzee.

Our March Book (Carol's pick) is "Sacre Bleu" and the meeting will be held at The Colonel Spencer Inn on Sunday, March 29th at 12:30 PM.  I'll be in touch as it gets closer.

That's all for now.  Hope you all have a wonderful March and let's all hope and pray that SPRING is coming SOON!!!!

I just got back from a side trip to Nebraska to see my sister. I have not had an opportunity to check my email since last night. Suggestions regarding the meeting are all over the place. I checked the weather forecast and they are predicting snow; however, since the forecasters are sometimes wrong, I suggest we leave the meeting as is and make a decision on Sat. evening or Sunday morning.

Please let me know if you plan to come and what you will bring.

I like Ann's suggestion the best. It gets complicated when we change things. Let's keep Sunday's date and cancel if we have to!

Don't see a final decision re Sunday. After much thought this is my opinion:

Meetings stay as scheduled.

If a meeting has to be cancelled due to conditions in Lincoln area, then it is cancelled until the nx month. Seems only an emergency up state would prevent at least some members being able to get together for a meeting.

Maybe final decision for this Sunday should be Stephanie's. I can send my opinion of book and discussion questions as book was my suggestion.

Hi,

I am currently in Missouri and will be returning to NH at the end of the week. We are scheduled to have our book club meeting on the 22nd at my house. Some of you are dealing with lots of issues related to snow and more snow is being predicted for Sunday. I'm not sure what we should do. One suggestions: Let's keep the date open and cancel if needed by Saturday. Any other suggestions?

Please reply to all so everyone can have input.

Thanks,
Stephanie
